June 03 Feed Overload? After watching Scoble and others blog about information overload in the sheer volume of feeds and social contacts in the wake of the more thoroughly connected internet, I'm not ashamed to reflect the same... and I don't have near the volume of many of my peers, let alone Scoble. I need to get a lot smarter about which feeds I subscribe to and which I can live without. How do you decided what/who to follow?
The "trust issue" has been raised by a good number of our customers in surveys and focus groups when talking about this. Korby and team have been working on Claimspace of course to address this, but cool as that will be, will it be enough? If I have 50 blogs I'm following from well-trusted peers, and another 50 from mainstream services (think Digg, etc), how much of that can I really pay attention to?
Perhaps we need to create a "miniweb" of those sites and people that we know/trust that we can search on demand... it's the old intranet concept, but without regard to corporate firewalls.
Looking forward to talking to folks at TechEd about this! TrackbacksThe trackback URL for this entry is: http://greenmspm.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!95109C234602D5FA!140.trak Weblogs that reference this entry
